Genshin Impact's upcoming 1.4 Windblume Festival update is set to roll out on March 17th

Wait, what, 1.4? Didn’t we have 1.3 several months ago? I never knew miHoYo is excellent at maintaining games, at the same time keeping them up-to-date. They do not look like an ordinary group of devs who abandons a game after its release. It is good to see devs like them still exist, and this is pretty unusual in the game industry.

Genshin Impact’s upcoming 1.4 update is arriving on March 17; this big update will feature tons of new mini-games, the Windblume Festival, a new 4-star playable character, dating simulator-like options on special characters, and many more. Developer miHoYo recently released the trailer for the 1.4 update, called “Invitation of Windblume,” which confirms the addition of the new 4-star character cryo character, Rosaria.

The announcement came from a post on PlayStation Blog, giving us enough details about the version overhaul. The 1.4 update introduces us to the Windblume Festival, described as ‘a cultural celebration of romance and passion’, giving us a clue that this festival will turn the game into a dating sim.

When the update is live, players (travelers, particularly) whose adventure rank is 20 and who have already completed the Archon Quest “Song of the Dragon and Freedom” will be invited to the festival of ‘romance and passion.’ During the festival, players will have an opportunity to have a “very special chance” together with Barbara, Benett, Noelle, and Chongyun, which the game calls “Hangout Events.”

During these events, players will have the possibility of reaching a different route depending on their interactions with each character. Unlocking actual endings will reward the players with a Hangout Memory illustration, and players who unlock multiple endings will get even more rewards.

As part of the events, players will be able to play these three primary new mini-games, which are Bullseye Balloons, Ballads of Freeze, and Floral Freefall. Most of these mini-games can be played solo or co-op, and each comes with four difficulty levels.

You will be rewarded with a certain number of Festive Tour Tickets (can only be claimed once on single-player mode) after the completion of the mentioned mini-games, which can be exchanged on new rewards in the Event Shop, along with talent level-up materials, as well as the two new gadgets: the Windblume Festival Commemorative Balloon and the Windsong Lyre.

Rosaria “Thorny Benevolence” makes her big debut in the update as a new 4-star playable character. The 1.4 Update is also bringing back the 5-star banner character Venti, giving players a second chance to roll for the Anemo Archon.

Updates always come with minor changes. They at least come with optimizations and adjustments. These are the notable small changes on the update so far. Version 1.4 will now allow travelers to hold up to five Condensed Resin in their inventory. Travelers will also be able to lower the world-level to suit their needs in both modes, such as co-op and solo.
