Facebook launches Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses

Facebook has finally joined the smart glasses bandwagon as they introduce to us the rise of their smart glasses — the Ray-Ban Stories.

In collaboration with Ray-Ban, the Ray-Ban Stories is their way of expressing the “smart glasses that blend form and function” to the world. As the name suggests, it brings you an experience to capture the everyday moments of your life with its two 5MP cameras on each side, and that’s what makes it smart.

The smart glasses come in classic Ray-Ban styles like Wayfarer, Meteor, and Round. It also features additional combinations of frame and glass colors.

Colors aside, the sunglasses also come with built-in speakers, three microphones, a charging case, and a touchpad for controls. The three-microphone audio array delivers richer voice and sound transmission for calls and videos whereas there are built-in speakers that promise to bring high-quality audio.

There’s also built-in storage that lets you take around 500+ snapshots and around 30 videos, and it supports computational photography, alongside HDR and Low Light Fusion, Video Stabilization, and Denoising.

While there’s a built-in memory you can use, the contents captured on the smart glasses are customizable through the Facebook View app, in which you can edit or share to the social app of your choice: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, and more.

The Ray-Ban Stories retails for USD 299 (~PHP 14.9K) can now be sold online, as well as in select retail stores in the US, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, and the UK.
