Xiaomi offers 3-year-software and 4-year-security upgrades

Xiaomi has announced it will be extending its coverage by pushing 3 major OS upgrades and 4 minor security patches to the Mi 11T series.

The series is comprised of two phones: the Mi 11T Pro and the Mi 11T. These two phones will enjoy long-term support, bringing 3 major Android upgrades, as well as the latest security patches from time to time for 4 years.

Usually, software updates don’t last this long as phones would only go for two to three years in the past generations, including the flagship ones. Will Xiaomi finally set the new standard?

The Xiaomi Mi 11T series is slated to arrive on September 15th.
