Chinese game studio HoYoverse, formerly miHoYo, has introduced the most-anticipated Genshin Impact 2.5 “When the Sakura Bloom” update, and is now available for download.
The latest update adds Yae Miko as a playable character, along with Raiden Shogun reappearing as a new weekly boss, and a variety of new in-game features.
Below are the main highlights of the latest patch.
Yae Miko, a new 5-star character
Ever since Yae made her debut in Version 2.0, fans have been eager to use her as a playable character. Now, players no longer have to wait as Yae Miko becomes a playable 5-star character in the latest update.
Yae Miko, also known as Lady Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine, is a 5-star Electro Catalyst user. She’s the first character to combine both the aforementioned vision and weapon, and is also capable of dealing both constant damage off-field and high burst damage on-field with her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.
Her event wish banner will be followed by Raiden and Kokomi reruns.
Raiden Shogun, a new weekly boss
Meanwhile, after an epic encounter with Raiden Shogun in her storyline, she returns once again as a weekly boss in the Trounce Domains, in new “intimidating combat mechanics.” The Trounce Domain can be unlocked after completing the Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter: Act II story quest.
Shadowy Husks
Aside from the weekly boss, the latest patch also features new opponents to fight off, including the Shadowy Husks. They come in three types, namely Standard Bearers, Line Breakers, and Defenders. These bosses use a unique mechanic according to each type, which increases the difficulty of each fight.
Seasonal Event: The Three Realms Gateway Offering
The Three Realms Gateway Offering is an ancient underwater region based on Enkanomiya that is shrouded in unknown darkness. In this event, Travelers will be required to revisit the area and endure the corrosive effects of the mysterious darkness. This is where Travelers will be able to acquire the Bokuso Box, and the story continues.
Other than that, there’s also the Divine Ingenuity event that allows Travelers to create and customize their domains. Travelers will also be able to browse other players’ domains so be sure to check them out!
