Earphones have been a part of our everyday life. We tend to use them to pass time, usually for entertainment, sometimes for work. As a student, I use my earphones to start my day, vibing off to my favorite songs while doing school work, the same thing I do with my hobbies. However, you really cannot get a decent pair of wireless earphones with hardware-demanding features, especially when you are fastidious. This is where the Nokia E3511 comes in.

Build & Design
At first glance, I’m already attracted by how it looks and the blue color gives a classy vibe, adding a premium feel to it. The charging case weighs about 40g and it is quite heavy, given that it’s fabricated around an aluminum shell and it offers a USB Type-C port for convenient charging. The earbuds, on the other hand, have a glossy material from what appears to be plastic and weigh about 4g for each piece. It supports touch gestures, which utilize a variety of features, adding another level of flexibility.
Redefining Flexibility
The Nokia E3511 comes with IP44 weatherproof certification, specifically made for indoor and outdoor uses, giving you the ease to get your day going and relax with what’s going on around you. It’s actually one of the main highlights of the earbuds, alongside two noise-focused modes, ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and Ambient modes.
My ANC Experience
For those unaware, ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), as the name suggests, “cancels” the noise around you. It’s more like a filter, which is actually effective on the Nokia E3511 and it’s my favorite feature so far. This is my first surreal experience with the ANC mode on an earphone and I’m satisfied with the result. I still remember the time I reviewed over-ear headphones with ANC, it did not really take an effect on me and guess what, pick in-ear earphones when it comes to ANC because IEMs (In-Ear Monitors) are doing it better than over-ear ones, such as headphones.
Meanwhile, the Ambient mode does the opposite. It’s one way to switch to the regular world, without having to take your earphones off completely. Both modes can be triggered by holding any of the earbuds for 2 seconds. The ANC comes first, then the Ambient mode comes second, and the mode completely turns off the third time you switch. Moreover, there’s also the voice assistant gesture, which can be triggered by tapping your left earbud three times, allowing you to talk to your Google Assistant or Siri.
What’s In The Box?
Of course, a product wouldn’t be complete without its necessities, so aside from the Nokia E3511 and the charging case, it also comes with a charging cable, and four extra ear tips in different sizes which can be adjusted according to your needs. There’s also a manual and a one-year warranty card out-of-the-box.
Audio Quality
As for the audio quality, it’s loud and clear. It delivers great consistency when it comes to songs with bass, though there’s a noticeable delay when playing games, given the fact that it’s a wireless earphone to start with. The gestures are a bit complicated too, but it’s not a big deal.
Battery Life
Keeping the Nokia E3511 earphones up and running is a 40mAh battery for both left and right earbuds, alongside a 350mAh battery for the charging case, which usually lasts for a day on a single charge. I got to say the battery is so long that I cannot even drain it, whenever I take a break, it goes back to a straight hundred percent because of the charging case, without charging. The charging case also serves as a battery case. Took me long enough to realize.
Final Thoughts
The Nokia E3511 is a good contender for its price point. It’s one of the cheapest ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) earphones you can get. The touch controls are a bit slow but that aside, it has a premium feel to it, given that the charging case is built around an aluminum material.
