Numerade Launches Mobile App for Android

Numerade, a video-based learning platform focused on expanding access to high-quality STEM education for students worldwide, today launched a new mobile app for Android. The Numerade app is now available for download on Google Play.

Numerade’s new Android app will provide instant, round-the-clock access to its entire library of over 2 million step-by-step video solutions to textbook and student-asked questions in math, science, economics, and other subjects. Numerade has already helped 60 million students learn STEM concepts and master skills, and its new Android app is set to greatly increase access to its learning platform for students around the world.

Numerade’s asynchronous video lessons are created by top educators and matched directly to problems from thousands of STEM textbooks. App users also have the ability to ask their own questions and receive video answers from Numerade educators. In addition to the largest library of STEM videos online, the new app will feature SnapSolve, a feature that allows students to take a photo of a math or science question and receive an instant video answer with a detailed explanation.

This is the third app Numerade has introduced this year. The Android app follows the launch of StudyParty in February, a social test prep app where users can study with friends and other students, as well as the launch of the Numerade educator app for iPad in March, which educators can use to record and submit their video lessons for payment.

“With the launch of our Android mobile app, Numerade is taking another step toward our goal of democratizing STEM education for all students,” said CEO and founder Nhon Ma. “By expanding to this new platform, Numerade will be able to reach tens of millions of students around the world who would otherwise be unable to access world-class educators and top-level STEM instruction, especially in countries such as India and the Philippines where Android use far outpaces that of iOS.”

“The belief that everyone deserves access to a high quality STEM education has always been at the core of who we are, and we’re excited for this new phase in our mission to close the educational opportunity gap,” said Ma.

Numerade was founded in Los Angeles in 2018 with the goal of making the knowledge and skills of world-class STEM educators widely accessible and affordable to students of all backgrounds. Numerade’s mission is to close the educational opportunity gap by unlocking and democratizing access to extraordinary educators through exceptional short-form video content. This mission took on added urgency during the COVID-19 pandemic when remote learning became the norm and already-widening disparities in learning between higher and lower-income students were greatly exacerbated. Since then, the company has continued its rapid growth, with more than 50,000 educators creating content on Numerade and over 60 million students using the platform.
