Infinix Note 12 VIP and 12 G96 unveiled

The VIP and the MVP.

Infinix has just announced not just one, but two, of the newest members of the Note 12 family today — the Note 12 VIP and 12 G96. Both devices feature the Helio G96 chip, AMOLED displays, and more.

New budget devices from Infinix

Infinix Note 12 VIP

For starters, the Infinix Note 12 VIP packs a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ display in an AMOLED panel. It has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support and also comes equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. Upfront is a 16MP selfie snapper housed in a punch-hole cut-out.

Under the hood is the Helio G96 chipset by MediaTek, a mid-range processor under a 12nm process. The chip is then paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone runs on Android 12-based XOS 10.6 on the software side and is capable of an additional 5GB virtual RAM support.

For cameras, the Note 12 VIP uses a triple-camera setup that consists of a 108MP primary, 13MP ultra-wide, and 2MP depth sensors.

Keeping the lights on is a 4,500mAh battery alongside a whopping 120W HyperCharge technology. Infinix claims that the phone can charge from a flat zero to a hundred percent in just 17 minutes.

The Infinix Note 12 VIP comes in an 8GB + 128GB memory configuration and is priced at US$ 300 (~roughly PHP 15.7K).

Infinix Note 12 G96

Note 12 VIP aside, here comes the G96 variant. As the name suggests, it retains the Helio G96 chipset seen on the VIP model. It also retains the same 6.7-inch AMOLED display in Full HD+ resolution with the exclusion of the 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit support.

Other than that, the Note 12 G96 uses a 50MP triple-camera setup alongside 2MP depth and QVGA sensors, while on the front is the same 16MP camera. Battery-wise, the phone packs a larger 5,000mAh battery but charges at a slower 33W charging tech.

The Infinix Note 12 G96 sells out for US$ 200 (~roughly PHP 10.4K).

None of these phones have made it into the country just yet but we’ll keep you posted so stay tuned for more updates!
