Samsung unveils Galaxy Z Flip7, Z Fold7 with 200MP camera, thinner material
The seventh installment of the brand's flagship foldable lineup returns with an additional family member.

MANILA, Philippines — South Korean technology giant Samsung has announced its latest iteration of its foldable devices, consisting of the Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE, and Z Fold7, at the Galaxy Unpacked event online, on Wednesday, May 9, 2025.
All three devices from the smartphone maker come with thinner material, performance boost, and significant AI upgrades, compared to the previous generations of the lineup.
Galaxy Z Fold7
Weighing in at 215 grams, this year's Fold focuses on power and flexibility. The Galaxy Z Fold7 measures 8.9 mm in thickness when folded and 4.2 mm when unfolded. It has a 6.5-inch AMOLED cover display, with a wider panel, and a new 21:9 aspect ratio.

Meanwhile, the main display uses an 8-inch AMOLED panel, with up to 2,600-nits of peak brightness, complemented by the device's in-house Vision Booster for screen visibility in direct sunlight.
For durability, the Fold7 comes with a thinner FlexHinge that reduces visible creasing and the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for added toughness.
It has a triple-camera setup, consisting of a 200-megapixel main, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and 10-megapixel telephoto. On both the front (and the cover) is a 10-megapixel selfie camera.

Underneath the Fold7 is a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for Galaxy with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. It has a 4,400mAh battery with 25W charging tech and runs on Android 16-based OneUI 8.

While the Fold7 focuses on flexibility, this year's generation of Flip focuses on expansion — it boasts a 4.1-inch AMOLED FlexWindow — which is said to be the 'largest ever' on a Galaxy Z Flip. It has 2,600-nits of peak brightness, accompanied by a 120Hz refresh rate and the brand's Vision Booster for visibility in sunlight.
Meanwhile, the main display uses a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, backed by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for durability. The Flip7 weighs 188 grams and measures 13.7 mm when folded, with an Armor FlexHinge and an aluminum frame.

Inside the Flip7 is an in-house Exynos 2500 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM, and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. It has a 4,300mAh battery, runs on Android 16, and has support for Samsung DeX for the first time.
For cameras, it has a dual-camera setup, consisting of a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and a 50-megapixel main camera. It has a 10-megapixel camera on the front.

Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
Behind the two members is an unexpected guest — the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. It is the first FE (Fan Edition) model in the Galaxy Z family, with toned-down specifications of the base Flip7 model at the expense of a more affordable price.
It carries a similar appearance to last year's Z Flip6 with a 6.7-inch main screen, and a 3.4-inch cover screen. It is powered by the Samsung Exynos processor with 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage, and a 4,000mAh battery that charges at 25W. The phone runs on Android 16.
