MANILA, Philippines — Xiaomi gaming sub-brand Black Shark today has announced the chipset of its upcoming gaming tablet, marking the return of the renowned gaming brand to the mobile tech scene. The new tablet is revealed to use a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which adds to the rest of the teasers posted by the brand.

Initially teased in late November and early December 2025, the social media arm of Black Shark Malaysia took to Facebook to announce the gaming tablet. Originally depicted as a collaboration between the brand and Qualcomm, the Black Shark gaming tablet was first suggested to sport a Snapdragon chip, possibly between the lines of the "8 Gen 3 or an 8+ Gen 2" as quoted in the post, which left fans in question.

However, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 does not exist. The brand is probably referring to the 8 Gen 2, which was released in 2022.

Nevertheless, it didn't take long until it was revealed that it will be using the aforementioned Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset instead, which was posted today, Tuesday, December 16, on the brand's Facebook account. Although already a year old, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is still prominent enough to handle most of the games today.

Prior to the chipset announcement, the Black Shark gaming tablet was announced with an 8.8-inch display. Inside the upcoming slate is the brand's signature cooling system.
