Originally started as a Facebook page, androidist was founded in 2019 by two founding members Brahm Daniel Verano and Mar Yvan Dela Cruz, having the main objective of conveying the newest in technology in simpler terms. It was transitioned to a fully-fledged news website a year later and has since expanded its coverage, catering to a larger demographic, including gaming news, personal computing, editorials, opinions, and other technology-related information dedicated to the masses.
androidist is a portmanteau of Android and Enthusiast.
The name androidist is derived from the word ‘Android’, the world’s most popular operating system, and ‘Enthusiast’, which means a person interested in a particular activity or subject.
