 ICYMI: First Phone With Snapdragon 888, Xiaomi Mi 11 Announced

The first phone to power Snapdragon 888 is here!


This crown jewel highlights a wide 6.81-inch 2K QHD+ Super AMOLED Display with up to 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and in-display fingerprint sensor. The screen with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. As Xiaomi has promised, the flagship is powered by Qualcomm’s latest 5nm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC. Other notable features include 8GB or 12GB of improved LPDDR5 RAM, vapor chamber cooling system, and Mi Charge Turbo System.
Talking about the charger removal, a company representative from Xiaomi confirmed to Android Authority that the company will still offer two options, one with the smartphone only, and the other one with the smartphone and a separate 55W GaN bundled with the same price.
To put it simply, you can’t get one if you already have one.
As for the camera, the Mi 11 highlights a 108MP OIS main camera with f/1.85 aperture, 13MP ultra-wide secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 5MP telephoto macro camera. Other than that, the Mi 11 can record up to 8K video resolution and a night video mode for brighter low light videos. And as for the selfies, the device also highlights a 20MP punch-hole camera.
Moreover, the Mi 11 runs on MIUI 12.5 based on the latest version of Android which is Android 11, it has 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for improved connectivity, Harman Kardon stereo speakers, heart-rate detection via the in-display fingerprint sensor and a not-so-bad 4,600mAh battery that can be charged up to 55W in wired charging for 45 minutes, and 50W wireless charging for 53 minutes, powered with the Mi Charge Turbo System. It also offers 10W for reverse wireless charging.
Xiaomi also offers a limited Mi 11 Lei Jun Signature Edition. This limited edition variant comes with a 3D textured glass with Lei Jun’s signature on the back, as well as the gift-box packaging. This model packs with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM, but there’s no announcement yet about the price.
The Mi 11 is available in five colours, Black, White, Blue, Smoke Purple, and Khaki colours.
There’s no word yet on when the device will be available in non-China countries.
