Oppo has introduced to us the latest installment of the K-series by a big event in China today along with a K9 series Smart TV, Enco Air TWS, and an Oppo Band Vitality Edition, which is the Oppo K9 5G, making it the Oppo’s first device to feature a high 90Hz refresh rate display in the K lineup.
The Oppo K9 5G is built around a 6.43-inch Full HD screen in AMOLED panel, with 90Hz refresh rate support and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display also comes with a sixth-gen fingerprint sensor inside by Goodix. On top is a centered punch-hole housing a 32MP front-facing camera, as well as a tri-cam setup attached on the back, making the cameras four in total. The triple-camera setup consists of a 64MP primary lens, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens.
Powering the Oppo K9 5G is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G SoC, accompanied by only one 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage for memory options. It runs on the latest ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 and it offers 4,300mAh with 65W for a fast wired charging experience. It’s funny seeing how it comes with a headphone jack, slamming out other smartphones that lack it.
Other features of the Oppo K9 5G include a 360-degree surround antenna for an immersive cinematic audio experience, a liquid cooling system to support the performance, dual-mode 5G (SA/NSA) support, and USB Type-C.
The Oppo K9 5G vanilla variant with 128GB ROM is priced at CNY1,999 (~roughly PHP14.8K), add CNY200 (~PHP1.4K) more then you’ll get twice the storage.
The Oppo K9 5G is now open for pre-orders in China and customers who will pre-order are entitled to a discount of CNY100. It will arrive in Chinese markets starting May 11. There’s no announcement yet on when will it go on global markets, but we’ll keep you updated!
