PUBG returns to India under a new name

Last year, on September 2020 it was known that the Mobile Version of PUBG was banned by the Indian government because of privacy concerns. But Krafton, PUBG’s developer is expected to launch the game under a new title named ‘BattleGrounds Mobile India’. The said information was leaked by Gemwire who clamed that it was detected on the source code of the official website of PUBG Mobile India.

In a recent development, the PUBG Mobile India official website links to a new creative asset.

The creative found suggests the Indian version of PUBG Mobile will likely be named “Battlegrounds Mobile India”. #PUBGMobile #PUBGMobileIndia pic.twitter.com/RhZbyHsu7l

A demo of the gameplay was also leaked this week in YouTube but it was immediately deleted.

Coincidentally, this news was released when Krafton decided to shut down the servers of the PUBG Lite in India and other countries.

While the official developers have yet to have an official announcement there is a lot of rumors about renaming PUBG and making its return in India.

As of right now only the PC version of PUBG is available in India legally.
