Apple iPad Mini (2021) is now here!

Apple has announced the launch of iPad Mini 2021 during the recent Apple event that happened this week, on September 14th.

Launched alongside the iPhone 13 series, the all-new iPad mini 2021 comes with a larger display, rounded corners, and more. As mentioned, it sports a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, with up to 500 nits of peak brightness, a P3 color gamut, and an anti-reflective coating. There’s also a home button with an embedded Touch ID.

Under the hood, the all-new A15 Bionic chip powers the enormous device. It is equipped with 2-core high-performance cores, 4-core high-efficiency cores, as well as a faster Neural Engine, and a 5-core GPU. According to Apple, the A15 Bionic chip brings up to 80 percent more performance than its predecessor, which is the A14 Bionic chip.

The iPad mini (2021) runs on the latest iPadOS 15 out-of-the-box which brings new widget layouts, enhanced multi-tasking, system-wide notes, and more.

Connectivity-wise, the tablet comes with a USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 6, and the next-gen 5G. Additionally, it also supports the 2nd gen of the Apple Pencil which attaches magnetically to the iPad mini for wireless charging and pairing.

In terms of cameras, the iPad mini (2021) comes with an upgraded 12MP ultra-wide lens on the front, while you also get a 12MP camera on the back with an f/1.8 aperture and an LED flash.

Moreover, the iPad mini (2021) is available in four colorways: Space Gray, Pink, Purple, and Starlight. Apple claims that the enclosure incorporates 100 percent recycled aluminum. In addition, there are also Smart Folio (6th Gen) covers that sport in Black, White, English Lavender, Dark Cherry, and Electric Orange colors, it sells out for PHP 3,990.

The iPad mini (2021) retails for PHP 29,990 for the WiFi 64GB variant, while PHP 38,990 for the WiFi 256GB one. There are also two versions that are composed of WiFi and Cellular which are priced at PHP 38,990, and PHP 47,990 for the 256GB option.

All models and options of the iPad mini (2021) including the Smart Folio (6th Gen) are not yet available at the local Apple store. There’s no word yet on when will it arrive in PH but we’ll keep you updated with the most updated information possible.
