Redmi 9 Activ, Redmi 9C's twin brother, now official

Xiaomi is back once again launching a variety of Redmi 9 alternatives in India and the Redmi 9 Activ is one of them. From the looks of it, it appears that the company is not yet done with the lineup.

For starters, the Redmi 9 Activ is built around a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a dewdrop notch (which the company calls “Dot Drop”) that houses the 5MP front-facing camera.

The handset is quite identical to the Redmi 9C, however, this one only comes with a couple of cameras compared to the 9C which has three. It consists of 13MP primary and 2MP depth sensors alongside an LED flash housed in a square bump layout.

Appearance-wise, the Redmi 9 Activ reminisces the design of the Redmi 9 but it has a similar arrangement to the camera as seen on the Redmi 9C. So, it’s more of a rebranded Redmi 9C than a standard Redmi 9. Other than that, it powers the same Helio G35 processor, is available in two memory configurations, and has a battery of 5,000mAh with 10W charging tech.

The Redmi 9 Activ is available in the aforementioned two memory options: the 4/64GB model retails out for INR 9,499 (~PHP 6.5K) while on the other hand, the 6/128GB model sells out for INR 10,999 (~PHP 7.5K). It’s now available in the Indian market through the official Mi website.
