Globe Telecom is bringing Crunchyroll to the Philippines

Philippine telco Globe Telecom recently announced its partnership with anime streaming giant Crunchyroll to bring the service to the country.

Announced during the #GlobeInnoverse event last Friday, Globe is expanding its entertainment partners with the acquisition of Crunchyroll, along with its current entertainment partners Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Viu.

Allegedly, the said partnership means good news for anime fans as they get to watch the latest episodes of their favorite anime shows, an hour after the show was aired in Japan.

According to a report from UnGeek PH, the telecommunications company said that the partnership opened more than 1,000 premium anime titles for Globe subscribers to enjoy when the service goes live.

The event also showcased the telco giant’s latest achievements, products, and partnerships.

Crunchyroll is a popular anime direct-to-consumer service with over 5 million SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) subscribers and counting. It has amassed over 90 million registered users across more than 200 countries and territories offering AVOD, mobile games, manga, events merchandise, and distribution.
