The Quintessential Quintuplets The Movie has finally released its full trailer, revealing the premiere date of the film. The trailer was uploaded to YouTube by TBS Animation, along with a new key visual posted under the anime’s official Twitter account.

It has been reported that the film will exceed 130 minutes and will serve as the finale of the series. With a runtime that long, it looks like the movie is highly likely to cover all of the various parts of the manga. It’s kinda disappointing, knowing that the series has come to an end with a movie, I mean, I’m looking forward to Season 3 (and who wouldn’t?) but it sure is taking its time so I guess it will be worth it.

The Quintessential Quintuplets tells the story of Uesugi Futaro, a poor but intellectual high school student who comes across a private tutor gig to support his family for financial expenses. Uesugi is hired to be a tutor for the wealthy Nakano family and their five identical quintuplet daughters, composed of Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki. The story is revealed with a flashback from a future that tells that Uesugi ends up getting married to one of them.

The anime’s first season premiered in January 2019 and aired for 12 episodes, following the second season which also premiered with 12 episodes. The first two seasons of the anime are available for streaming on both Crunchyroll and Funimation, which offers an English dub for the series.

The Quintessential Quintuplets The Movie is slated to premiere on May 20, 2022. There’s no announcement regarding a worldwide premiere yet, but we’ll keep you posted so stay tuned for updates!
