During the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event, Samsung has unveiled the all-new Galaxy S22 series alongside the Tab S8 lineup and the Note-successor Galaxy S22 Ultra.
It has an S Pen
The inclusion of the S Pen is what’s keeping the Note series alive, on the S family. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is the perfect combination of both the 2021’s Galaxy S21 Ultra and 2020’s Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with an overall new design and overhauled capabilities.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra
The Galaxy S22 Ultra features an enormous 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display in front, it has a similar design to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with curved sides. It has a set of four cameras on the back with the similar camera layout to its predecessor, the S21 series but without the embossed camera bump. It also has the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, as well as support for 120Hz refresh rate, 1,750 nits of peak brightness, and 100-percent DCI-P3 coverage.
This crown jewel uses an aluminum frame and Corning Gorilla Glass+ on both the front and the back, making the durability increased with a tougher resistance. It is also worth noting that the phone itself, as well as the S Pen, are IP68 water and dust resistant.
The new S Pen comes with an updated latency of 2.8ms and AI-based co-ordinate prediction tech, along with the new Quick Note feature that gives you the ease to attach or link content in a Pop Up note within Samsung Apps like Browser and Gallery.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra is equipped with a quad camera setup that consists of a 108MP f/1.8 primary, alongside 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide, 10MP f/2.4 3x, and 10MP f/4.9 periscope camera modules. In front, you get a 40MP f/2.2 selfie snapper.
There is no microSD slot
Under the hood is the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 octa-core processor, a chip based on a manufacturing process of 4nm. The chip is accompanied by up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, along with the new Adreno 730 GPU, improved AI processing, and 2x faster NPU.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will ship the latest Android 12 with OneUI 4.1 on top. It also has a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging tech and 15W wirelessly, USB-C, Samsung DeX, Bixby, NFC, and more.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes in three memory configurations: 8/128GB for PHP 68,990, 12/256GB for PHP 72,990, and 12/512GB for PHP 80,990 and is available in four colors: Burgundy, Green, Phantom White, and Phantom Black.
