MediaTek today adds another member to the Dimensity-series portfolio — the Dimensity 1300. It uses TSMC’s 6nm process, and features an octa-core processor comprised of four Cortex-A78 cores, four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, and a 9-core Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
The all-new Dimensity 1300 chip has support for 168Hz displays, up to Full HD+ (2520 x 1080) resolution. It also offers support for UFS 3.1 storage and up to 16GB, LPDDR4x RAM max with up to 4266Mbps frequency and comes with the HyperEngine 5.0 solution for gaming.
Meanwhile, the ISP supports up to 200MP for cameras with 4K HDR recording. There’s also the hardware-accelerated AV1 decoding for a convenient 4K streaming experience with ‘excellent power efficiency.’
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset is expected to arrive in Q2 2022 starting with the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2T and Redmi Note 12 series, according to a Gizmochina report. The Dimensity 1300 is on par with the Snapdragon 778G by Qualcomm.
