Chinese smartphone manufacturer under BBK Electronics Oppo is working on a smartphone that will arrive first with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 — the Oppo Reno 8. This new processor will rock ARM’s new microarchitecture. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 supports the new 4nm manufacturing process with 8 cores, within which 4x cores are powered by the new Cortex A710 and another 4x cores Cortex A510. The GPU on board will be the Adreno 662.
The certification of Oppo Reno 8 has surfaced online, with certificate number 2022011606465757. The certification also reveals that the Oppo Reno 8 will house a 50-megapixel primary shooter namely the Sony IMX 766, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 2-megapixel sensor for macro shots. Also highlighted is the 4500 mAh battery with a super-fast 150-watt charging.
It is still not clear when will the device be announced. According to an OyPrice report, the Oppo Reno 8 series are slated to arrive in India by the end of June. As per the announcement, we will get further details about the device once it has arrived.
