Remember the 18,000mAh Energizer phone from 2019? It’s the Power Max P18K. It failed its IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign, so as a result, it didn’t make it to the market. Well sure, Energizer conceptualized it at first but as it turns out, it was just a prototype to show how the battery maker could live up to its name. The real deal is the Ulefone Power Armor 13, which boasts a massive 13,200mAh battery, sitting next to the BlackView BV9100 with its 13,000mAh battery.
There’s gotta be compromises so it took Ulefone to remove at least 5,000mAh in order to execute the concept, dethroning the crown from Energizer. But then, as you go further, that really isn’t all there is to it, and this is where the Oukitel WP19 comes in. Can you imagine that a 21,000mAh battery phone actually exists?
Well, it’s not an imagination anymore, as the Chinese tech firm Oukitel launches WP19 — the world’s first smartphone to tout a gigantic 21,000mAh battery to date.
The new battery king?
Oukitel has really done it this time. The all-new battery beast features an enormous 90Hz 6.78-inch FHD+ display, backed by decent mid-range internals with a Helio G95 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. It comes equipped with a 64MP triple-camera setup, alongside 2MP macro and 20MP night vision sensors with IR and it runs on Android 12.
In front, there is a 16MP selfie snapper with face unlock and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics. The rugged phone is backed by IP68 and IP69 certifications for water and dust resistance, as well as MIL-STD-810H for drop-proof. The massive 21,000mAh battery charges at 33W through USB-C with reverse charging support, which the brand claims to last for up to 36 hours of video playback and up to a week on a single charge.
