Taiwanese tech firm ASUS recently made the ROG Phone 6 series official in the Philippines three weeks after its global debut. The gaming-centric lineup was announced during the CONQuest Gaming and Pop Culture Festival on July 23rd in the country, with a suggested retail price starting at PHP 47,995 for the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage trim and is now currently open for pre-orders.
The King of Gaming Smartphones is back.
Dubbed as The King of Gaming Smartphones, the ROG Phone 6 series continues to utilize the latest and top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Its powerful internals is backed by an enormous 6.78-inch Full HD+ display in a Samsung E4 AMOLED panel, with a 165Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR10+ support.
Aside from its display, the 50MP triple-camera setup is here to balance the gaming-esque features with photography, alongside 13MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro camera units. In front is a 12MP selfie snapper.
Albeit, the all-new gaming-centric duo retains the 6,000mAh battery from its predecessor, including the 65W fast charging tech. Other key features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IPX4 splash resistance, and Android 12-based ROG UI.
While both are identical on paper, what makes the Pro model different from the vanilla one is the customizable ROG Vision, which acts as a secondary screen on the back, compared to the vanilla model which only features an RGB LED lighting system.
