The much-anticipated Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition is slated to be released on July 12 along with the Realme Book Air and the Buds Air 3 Neo TWS earbuds and yet Chinese tipsters have already leaked the pricing details of the up-and-coming flagship handset from the smartphone maker.
In a Gizmochina report, an image that mentions the price of the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition has surfaced online. The image reveals that the device will carry a sub 4,000 Yuan (~roughly US $600; PHP 33.9K) price tag in the Chinese market.
The vanilla Realme GT Master Explorer Edition, however, was priced at CNY 2,998 (~roughly US $447; PHP 24.9K). This is because the predecessor came equipped with a lower Snapdragon 870 chip, instead of a powerful Snapdragon 888 or 888+, but the GT 2 Master Explorer Edition will be using the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset so the price is reasonable.
The above photo was shared by notable leaker Ice Universe on Weibo. It was taken outside a retail store in China, which suggests that the up-and-coming flagship will be priced at CNY 3,998 (~roughly US $597; PHP 33.3K).
Reports suggest that the Realme GT 2 ME Edition will be the first to utilize the LPDDR5x RAM technology, as well as the first to feature a dual VC liquid cooling system. It will also be Realme’s first 100W fast-charging phone.
To recap, the Realme GT 2 ME Edition is expected to sport a 120Hz 6.7-inch Full HD+ display in an AMOLED panel, with a 50MP triple-camera setup alongside 50MP ultra-wide and 2MP sensors, 16MP on the front, and will run on the latest Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0. The handset may be available in three memory configurations: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and lastly, 12GB + 256GB of storage.
