POCO C50 unveiled with a leather-like material and a quad-core chip

POCO has introduced a new budget smartphone to the table, and it’s another lightweight phone for simple users. Meet — the POCO C50, an entry-level handset featuring a leather-like design, a quad-core chip, and a big battery.

Announced in India, the POCO C50 boasts a compact 6.52-inch HD+ “scratch-resistant” display with a waterdrop notch for the 5MP selfie camera. It comes equipped with a 120Hz touch-sampling rate and 400 nits of peak brightness, and has an 8MP dual-camera setup on the back.

Under the hood, the entry-level machine is powered by a Helio A22 processor with either 2GB or 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage with a dedicated microSD slot for further expansion. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery that charges at 10W and runs on Android 12 (Go Edition).

The rest of the specs include: a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual 4G VoLTE, and splash-proof coating.

Pricing & Availability

The POCO C50 comes in two colors and is available in 2GB + 32GB and 3GB + 32GB memory configurations, priced at INR 6,499 (~PHP 4.3K; US $78) and INR 7,299 (~PHP 4.9K; US $87) respectively. Open sales start on January 10 via Flipkart India.
