realme C55 with Dynamic Island-inspired Mini Capsule now in the Philippines

After a long set of early phone reviews and spec reveals, Chinese smartphone maker realme has officially brought its much-anticipated budget contender to the table, with iPhone-esque features right up its sleeve — the realme C55.

realme’s take on the Dynamic Island bandwagon.

Dubbed the Stylish Champion, the realme C55 packs an enormous 6.72-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It comes equipped with a dual-camera setup on the back, joined by 64MP main and 2MP depth sensors while up front is a punch-hole cut-out housing the 8MP selfie camera, which mainly highlights realme’s counterpart to iPhone’s Dynamic Island, called the Mini Capsule.

The Mini Capsule transforms the punch-hole cut-out into a pill-shaped notch that aims to display relevant information regarding the device’s status when interacted with, such as the charging indicator. Though limited as of the moment, it is worth noting that the Mini Capsule is a work-in-progress, meaning it’s possible that the feature will also have indicators for internet speeds and step counts in the near future.

Meanwhile, inside the realme C55 is the Helio G88 processor on the helm, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. The phone offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 5,000mAh battery inside that charges at 33W through USB-C, and runs on an Android 13-based realmeUI 4.0.

The realme C55 is available in two memory configurations: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, which are priced at PHP 8,999 and PHP 10,999 respectively. It comes in two colors, ranging from Sunshower to Rainy Night, and is now open for pre-orders nationwide through realme’s partner offline and online channels.
