Google Pixel 8A emerges in early leaks, shows curved corners

As the Google Pixel 8 event draws near, live hands-on images of Pixel 8A, the supposedly budget version of the Pixel 8, have already made rounds online and the Pixel 8 wasn't even out yet. As tipped by prominent leaker @yabihshekhd on X (formerly Twitter), the photos depict a more rounded design with unpleasingly thick bezels (previously seen on its predecessor) and stickers with censored barcodes and references to internal websites.

The leaker has shared four images of the device on the social media platform, along with the caption "Google Pixel 8A codename Akita," which suggests that the former is probably codenamed "Akita" internally. The leaker also adds that the Pixel 8A is likely to use a Tensor G3 processor which will be introduced on the Pixel 8 lineup — which is not surprising as these "A" models tend to use the same processor as the base model in the flagship catalogue.
