realme 12 Pro series goes official in India

realme has announced two new phones today in India and they are the 12 Pro and 12 Pro+—the latest mid-range offerings from the Chinese phone brand. Both models in the brand's newest installment feature a luxury watch design, a leather material, and periscope lenses—for the first time in the series.

Both the two models in the lineup, the 12 Pro and 12 Pro+, offer a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display in an AMOLED panel. The displays support a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch-sampling rate. Inside the two phones are the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 for the Pro model and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 for the Pro+ model. Albeit, the Pro+ model has a maxed-out 12GB RAM variant while the Pro model only opts for 8GB RAM.

Battery-wise, the mid-range duo from realme also shares the same battery capacity and charging speed—both models are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and a 67W charging speed. As for the cameras, this is where the two models differ from one another—the realme 12 Pro uses a 50MP main camera, joined by 32MP and 8MP sensors. It has a 16MP sensor on the front.

The realme 12 Pro+, on the other hand, uses a 64MP periscope main camera, joined by 50MP OIS and 8MP ultra-wide lenses. The Pro+ model uses a 32MP selfie snapper on the front. Both the two phones run on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 out-of-the-box and are available in Submariner Blue and Navigator Beige colors. Albeit, the Pro+ model will get an exclusive Explorer Red variant.

Pre-orders are now open for both models. Customers in India are entitled to an INR 2,000 discount (~roughly US $25) and other benefits.
